Tony Hicks

Community Impact Facilitator

Tony Hicks serves as Community Impact Facilitator at the Tariq Khamisa Foundation (TKF), where he helps bring restorative principles to life through education, dialogue, and lived experience. Tony holds certificates in Conflict Resolution, Victim Awareness, and Victim Impact. Tony earned a Restorative Justice Facilitation Certificate from the Kroc School of Peace Studies, University of San Diego and a certificate in Mindful Management Leadership from NonProfit Solutions in Fall of 2025.
 
Following his release from prison, Tony served two years on the TKF Board of Directors and continues to volunteer throughout the community, sharing his powerful story to inspire empathy, accountability, and change. Through TKF’s Peacemaker Assemblies and restorative workshops, Tony helps students connect to the transformative power of forgiveness and accountability, teaching principles to young people like the one he once was.
 
Tony earned his GED while incarcerated and is an avid reader, finding insight and reflection in works such as The Forty Rules of Love, 1984, and Until We Reckon. Guided by lived experience and deep personal growth, Tony remains committed to building a more compassionate and just world,  one conversation, one classroom, and one act of forgiveness at a time.
