TKF’s In-Person Services Are Returning to Classrooms

The Tariq Khamisa Foundation is happy to announce the return of in-person services at schools in San Diego and across the nation!

TKF is currently contracted to bring our Mentoring services to four schools within San Diego County, providing individualized attention and guidance to selected students. These services are structured to improve students’ academic performance, reduce school infractions, and improve attendance. Onsite mentoring also creates a visible campus presence centered on school engagement, safety and support for ALL students.

Additionally, we have received funding to bring our Restorative Workshop curriculum to schools in the Oceanside Unified School District during the upcoming school year. We will also be returning our curriculum to the Pechanga Reservation school in early 2022.

In September, TKF’s Directors will be traveling back to Pennsylvania to meet with our Safe School Expansion facilitation teams at Newtown Elementary, FDR and Armstrong Schools. We will also present live in-person TKF Peacemaker Assemblies, conduct Restorative Workshop facilitator trainings with new educators, conduct parent orientations, and facilitate staff professional development sessions.

Rounding out our upcoming travels, TKF’s Directors will be traveling back to Colorado Springs to conduct day two of the TKF Restorative Workshop facilitator training with Mountain View Academy.

TKF is hiring part-time Peace Educator Mentors to create a campus presence that promotes peace, safety, and cooperation. Mentors are assigned to a specific school campus to conduct interventions that include monitoring of academic achievement, managing classroom behaviors, addressing misconduct incidents, facilitating classroom curriculum, as well as organizing schoolwide recreational and service activities.
