Update for those who may be affected by recent changes
A note from Tasreen Khamisa – Executive Director
Dear Supporter,
Anxiety, instability, and fear should never define a child’s life. Yet today, far too many children face challenges no child should have to endure.

This is not a political issue—it is a human one. It’s about our collective responsibility to ensure that every child, no matter their background, has a safe space to learn and grow.
It’s about providing them with the tools to face life’s challenges without fear, so they can be the children they were meant to be.
Together we can resist division. Our children deserve better, we all deserve better.
TKF is dedicated to creating safer schools and stronger communities, as we have for nearly 30 years. In a world where fear and uncertainty often take hold, our mentoring program has never been more important.
TKF Program Manager, LynnOska Ritchie shared the following statement a week ago:
“As we navigate the uncertainties of the current climate, we find that the presence of our Peace Educator Mentors on the school campuses we serve is invaluable. With a high number of students in San Diego County missing school each day, our mentors are not only showing up to hold space for the students but also for the adults on campus. One educator at Vista High School had this to say about having TKF mentors on campus: “we need them.” As simple as that, our work is needed now more than ever.”
With your support of TKF, you’re not just contributing to a cause—you’re directly impacting the lives of students, families, and educators who need it most. TKF will continue to monitor any actions that may adversely impact our mission and the communities we serve. For questions, thoughts, or clarifications, I welcome you to reach out to me at tasreen@tkf.org.
We are stronger together! Will you stand with us and continue to make a difference for vulnerable youth? We appreciate your continued support of our work.
Warmly,
Tasreen Khamisa
Executive Director
